Stop Waiting for Someday — Do The Thing Now

Animals remind me to live in the present moment.

November 14, 2025

If there’s one thing this year has reminded me, it’s that life doesn’t wait—and neither should we.

The past few months have been a tough reminder of just how fleeting life really is. I’ve lost friends and people I know to metastatic breast cancer. Just a year ago, my family and I said goodbye to my mom and my husband’s dad. And then there’s my own journey—having to change cancer treatments multiple times this year as my disease progresses.

It’s been heavy at times. Honestly, there were moments when it all felt a little too much. But in the midst of it, a kind of clarity emerged.

A reminder that we never really know how much time we have - and that makes it even more important to live intentionally, to say yes to what matters, and to do it now.

For me, that clarity came in the form of writing again. I realized I have stories, reflections, and little lessons from this journey that I want to share—things that might inspire someone else to pause, to savor, and to take action in their own life. That’s why I’ve decided to write my second book. Not tomorrow. Not someday… now.

We all fall into the trap of putting things off, don’t we? Telling ourselves we’ll do them “someday.” Whether it’s pursuing a dream, reaching out to someone we love, or simply enjoying a quiet moment, someday can slip away faster than we realize.

So consider this a little nudge - from me to you. Don’t wait. Stop waiting for someday. Do the thing now. Because the only moment we truly have is this one, right here, right now.
